'Moonlight and Magnolias' was about the development of a script, based on the book 'Gone with the Wind'. There were 3 main characters, the producer David O'Selzick, scriptwriter Ben Hecht and director Victor Fleming. These characters are locked in a room in order for the script to be successfully written in time for the deadline in 5 days. There is another charachter, Ms. Poppenghul, David's secretary, who feeds them on peanuts and bananas.
As it was all performed in one room, the set design was detailed and really showed a Hollywood producers office. The passage of time was shown through littered peanuts and banana peels, as well as the characters clothes getting more and more disgruntled.
It was an interesting performance, with comedy and slapstick, while also showing an ugly side of producing.
